2013-2014 Backrow Recreation Centre report
December 19, 2014
The Backrow Recreation Centre in 2013/2014 saw it’s busiest year to date with over 24,000 ‘usages’ in the facility giving us a 14%
increase from last year.
The centre continues to go from strength to strength and has been a vital resource for the people of Draperstown catering for their
health and recreation needs.
At the Backrow we know that participating in sport and recreation can improve and promote social inclusion, improve health and
counter anti-social behaviour, and this has functioned as a vital resource towards improving the quality of life of our local
community in the local area.
The Annual Backrow Summer Camp ran again this year with 130 children registering for a fun filled fortnight.
We offer a wide variety of classes all year round for all abilities.
“I get great satisfaction from the improvement I see in individual’s health and well-being, and the results they are achieving as a result of the participation in our classes”
Kevin McSorley – Sports Officer
