Interesting workshops for carers.
Do you look after or care for someone who is ill of frail for either a few hours a day or full time?
Workspace Draperstown Ltd in conjunction with O’Kane’s Pharmacy have received funding from The Building the Community-Pharmacy Partnership (BCPP) to deliver a tailored programme of support for carers living in the Draperstown area.
The Building the community-pharmacy partnership is a partnership between the Community Development and Health Network and integrated Care, Health and social Care Board. To read more about the CDHN and their work visit their website here.
The programme aims to promote and support local communities to work in partnership with community pharmacists to address local health and social well-being needs using a community development approach.
Workshops to support carers
Our aims are to provide a series of workshops which have been designed to support all of you the carers who are involved.
During this programme you will have the opportunity to discuss medication and other health related concerns with the pharmacist on a one to one basis.
What are the workshops about?
- Learn to look after yourself
- Improve your own health
- Realise the value of the caring role you provide
- Carer’s day trip
- Support each other
Our overall aim is to facilitate the development of a carers support network, encouraging all the carers involved to “take care” of themselves through a series of workshops and to come together to support each other.
Please feel free to ask for anything you would like to be included in the project and we will try to accommodate all of you as best we can.
