Dr Mannion, Dementia Consultant, Northern Health & Social Care Trust delivers excellent talk on Dementia.

Over 30 people from the local community attended the Dementia information evening in Draperstown on Monday 14th October. Dr Mannion delivered a very interesting talk about the various forms of Dementia, their symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and management. Helen Gault, Team Leader, Mental Health and Older People Team, Northern Health and Social Care Trust outlined their role in helping people get the treatment and support that they need. The Alzheimer’s Society, Carers Northern Ireland and O’Kane’s Pharmacy provided information on how their organisations can help those affected by Dementia.
The next healthcare information evening takes place on Monday 28th October at 7.30pm in 50 High Street, Draperstown. Dr Josef Kuriacose, GP Moneymore Medical Centre, Northern Health & Social Care Trust and Gary Smyth, Man Matters will be speaking about Men’s Health. Information stands offering basic men’s health checks, advice on maximising benefits in rural areas, training and learning opportunities for men and advice on how small lifestyle changes can make a difference to health will also be available.
